Nadezhda Koshkina's octogintennial jubilee
Today marks the octogintennial jubilee of Nadezhda Koshkina, an art conservator and leading expert of the Department of Conservation, head of the painting restoration workshop at the Grabar Conservation Centre, and Honoured Culture Worker of the Russian Federation. She has brought hundreds of paintings by Western European and Russian artists back to life and made a significant contribution to the development of modern research methods and the restoration of easel painting. Her numerous works for the museum include the restoration of Paolo Veronese's Resurrection, Henri Matisse's Spanish Woman with a Tambourine, Pablo Picasso's Girl on a Ball, and others. For several decades she has educated multiple generations of young conservators who work in many Russian museums.
We sincerely congratulate Nadezhda on her 80th birthday and wish her good health, strength and energy to implement all her plans and ideas.
